Martin Henry Zapalac, Jr. August 16, 1931 - February 11, 2010 Martin Henry Zapalac, Jr. of Houston passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Father Hilario Guajardo officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m.Sunday, February 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Martin was born August 16, 1931 in LaGrange, Texas to Martin and Margaret Muhl Zapalac, Sr. He graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin and continued his education and football career at Tulane University in New Orleans, La. Upon graduation he embarked on his electrical career in Waco and culminated with electrical contracting in Houston. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all he knew. He will be dearly missed by all. Martin was a member of Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Virginia Zapalac of Houston; daughters, Pamela Lacour and husband, Charles of Montgomery; Nicolette Zapalac of Houston; granddaughter, Angela Main and husband, Greg of Austin; great granddaughter, Melody Main of Austin; sister, Dorothy Spanos and husband, Nick of Crawford; nieces, Fran Shelton and husband, Rick of Crawford and Kathy Leuschner and husband, Vernon of Robinson and numerous cousins and friends.
