Mary Clarice Mcdowell

July 16, 1915 — August 20, 2005

Mary Clarice “Nana” McDowell, of Waco, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 20, 2005. Services will be at 11:30am Wednesday, August 24 at Bosqueville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with family will be from 6 – 8pm, Tuesday, August 23 in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mary was born July 16, 1915 to Houston Allen Tacker and Allie Bell “Little” Tacker in Mexia. She was a graduate of Mexia High School. On July 1, 1936, she married Roy L. McDowell. They made their home in Waco where she worked for Cox’s Department Store until she retired. She was an active member of Bosqueville Baptist Church. Nana loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with her three grandsons and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Judith Lassetter, grandson, Melvin Clarence Lassetter, and two great grandchildren, Nancy Judith Lassetter and Paul Donald Lassetter. She is survived by her son-in-law, James Donald Lassetter, Sr. and wife Linda of Gholson; grandsons, James Donald Lassetter, Jr. and wife Patricia of China Spring, Edwin Roy Lassetter and fiancé Vicki Banister of Paris; granddaughter-in-law Kimberly Lassetter of Bosqueville; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister; one brother; two sister-in-laws; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pet Lucky. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bosqueville Baptist Church. The family request memorials be made to the Bosqueville Baptist Church.
