Mary Nell Eichelberger

Mary Nell Eichelberger January 15, 1917 - May 23, 2011 Mary Nell Eichelberger passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 23, 2011. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Abbott officiating. Mary Nell was born in Eddy, Texas, and graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School. In 1938 she graduated from the University of Texas where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In 1941, Mary Nell married Martin Davis Eichelberger of China Spring, Texas. Mr. Eichelberger was McLennan County District Attorney from 1966-1977 and he preceded her in death in 1977. Mary Nell was a teacher in the Waco ISD for 31 years, having taught at La Vega High School, West Junior High School, University High School and Richfield High School. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Mary Nell is survived by her son, Dave Eichelberger and wife, D. C. of Honolulu, Hawaii; her sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Edgar Jablonowski of Waco; her grandchildren, Martin Eichelberger and wife, Annemieke, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Clinton Eichelberger, of Hong Kong, Davis and Emalia Eichelberger of Honolulu, Hawaii; and three great grandchildren, Alyce Faye Eichelberger, Harrison Eichelberger and Hannah Eichelberger; and two nieces.
