Mildred Lena Emma Koester December 29, 1923 - July 18, 2009 Mildred Lena Emma Koester of Waco passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Catherine's Center . Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery. Open Visitation will be Monday, July 20, 2009 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mildred was born December 29, 1923 in China Spring, Texas to Adolf and Clara Schaeper. She graduated from Waco High School in 1942. She worked at W.T. Grant and Kress variety stores. She married Lorenz Koester in 1947. Mildred loved the outdoors, especially growing flowers and gardening. As a homemaker, she will be remembered for her sewing and homemade cookies. Mildred has been a long time member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waco where she belonged to the Dorcas Circle and Senior Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Clara Schaeper, husband, Lorenz Erwin Koester and daughter, Lynette Berrier. She is survived by son, Ronald Koester and wife Dana of Robinson, Texas; son-in-law Michael Berrier of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren; Travis, Amy, Ric and Joseph Berrier, and Angela Koester; three great-grandchildren; Josh, Emma, and Jacob Berrier. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Catherine’s Center and Hospice for their loving care and kindness. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay St. in Waco.
