Milus Calvert

Calvert, Milus February 11, 1911 – September 26, 2005 Retired Waco Police Chief, Milton Milus “Bo” Calvert, died September 26, 2005. Graveside services will be at 9:30 AM Thursday, September 29 at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Jim Chandler of the Central United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Bo was born as the fifth child on February 19, 1911 to Robert Landrum and Hester McClain Calvert in Hewitt, Texas. He married Leila Mae Crews November, 1933 in Waco. She preceded him in death February, 1991. Bo’s career in law enforcement covered 40 years as he worked his way through the ranks at the Waco Police Department retiring as Chief, June, 1975. In addition, he was a 1949 graduate of the FBI Academy and served as Police Chief in Kerrville, Texas for several years. Bo was an avid hunter and fisherman, thus he left this earth to meet his deceased wife and friends in heaven. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all the folks at the coffee shop and especially the ladies who cared for him as his health failed. He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Miller and husband, Gene; son, David Calvert and wife, Julie; brother, Royce Calvert of Waco and sister, Nadine Ward of Utah; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
