Mrs. Alabell Bracken

August 25, 1907 — January 26, 2002

BRACKEN, ALABELL Mrs. W. Earl Alabell Terry Bracken, Sr. of Waco, a retired employee of Waco Independent School District for 26 years has gone to be with the Lord Thursday, January 24, 2002. A private graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, January 26 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Wallace Shealy officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Friday, January 25 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Bracken was born August 25, 1907 in Mart, Texas to William Logan and Anna Carswell Terry. Mrs. Bracken graduated from Waco High School in 1925, attended Business College in Fort Worth and worked there for an automobile agency for several years. She married W. Earl Bracken, Sr. on August 27, 1932 in South Fork, Pennsylvania and they moved to suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Norwood, Pennsylvania and moved to Waco January 1949. They were active members at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Her husband preceded her in death August 13, 1986. Survivors include sons, W. Earl Bracken, Jr. and wife, Sarah Lou and S. Terry Bracken and wife, Betty of Houston, granddaughters, Betsy Bracken-Dugan and husband, Robert; Suzanne Cox and husband, David, Sarah Lynn Gamble and husband, Steve; and Charlyn Holmes and husband, Robert C., great grandchildren, Annie Langston Dugan, Bracken and Cali Cox, Ben Gamble, Ashley, Allison and Baron Holmes. The family wishes to express their gratitude and deep appreciation to the pastor, staff and caring congregation at St. Matthew Lutheran Church for their unconditional love. A special thanks to two very dear friends, Agnes Decker and Cornelia Robinson and for wonderful caregivers, Gladys Wilson, Evelyn Person, Earnestine Banks, Linda Smith, Doris Henley and Hillcrest Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the W. Earl and Alabell T. Bracken Scholarship Fund, c/o of The Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest, P.O.
