Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30, Thursday, March 18, prior to the service at WHB funeral home. She was born on June 29, 1914, in Coolidge, Texas, to Leta Davidson Tekell and Jim Tekell. She married Jimmie Oldham in 1941 and he passed away in 1982. Muriel was an 87 year resident of Waco working at Texas Power and Light for 38 years. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Muriel was an amazing woman who might best be characterized as a force of nature. She had unparalleled levels of energy and love to give. At age of 90, she decided she wanted to be closer to her beloved Alee and Micah, so she picked up and moved from Waco to McKinney to spend as much time as she could with them. Alexandra wants everyone to know that "Auntie" was the most forgiving person she has ever known. Even when they made mistakes, she never treated them badly. Alee feels that Auntie is still around, ready to forgive, like Jesus. Micah wants everyone to know that Auntie made him and his sister always feel special. They will miss her and always remember the Easter egg hunt they had in her house each year. Her family misses her. Muriel was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Leta Mae Tekell and Kathleen Tekell Farmer and her brother, James LaVon Tekell. Muriel is survived by her niece, Jeanne Farmer Domingue and husband, Michael Domingue; "Her babies" Alexandra and Micah Domingue of McKinney, Texas; her recently rediscovered niece, Elizabeth Tekell Nelson with great nephews, John Eric and James L. Nelson all of Riberia, New Mexico; as well as her dear friend, of 50 years, Joanne Kohler of Robinson, Texas.
