Myrtle Marie Meador August 29, 1926 July 23, 2011 Myrtle Marie Meador, 84, of Waco, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at St. Catherine's Center surrounded by her loving family. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 27, at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 26, in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Myrtle, known as Myrt to all her friends, was born in Dallas, August 29, 1926, to the Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Scott Ogle. As Reverend Ogle served God in many North and Central Texas communities, Myrt developed a deep sense of charity and compassion for all those around her. As a result, she gave her time, counseling and her witness to friends and stranger alike for the rest of her life. After graduation from Waco High School in 1943, Myrt attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth where she was active in the band and created many lifelong friendships. On June 4, 1946, she married her beloved husband of 61 years, Bruce Leon Meador, Sr. of Blooming Grove, TX. As a proud "PK", she continued her stewardship by serving various positions at St. John's United and Central Methodist Church. However, she gained the most satisfaction volunteering as a Patient Advocate for the Providence Volunteer Services for 32 years. Myrt, also known as "Memaw" by her family, will be missed by all but in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include sons, Bruce Meador, and Scott Meador and his wife, Elizabeth; brother-in-law Alva and wife, Twila Meador; grandchildren, Victoria, Owen, Amanda, Sarah and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Jasmine, Grace, Brooke, Emily and Zachary; nephews, Stephen and Nelda Meador and Paul and Leslie Meador; and numerous other relatives and lifelong friends. The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the entire staff of Providence Hospice, Providence Hospital and many dear friends for their compassionate love and care. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
