Myrtle Smallwood Eason September 23, 1913 - September 3, 2008 Myrtle Smallwood Eason, loving wife, mother, Granny and friend, died September 3, 2008 in Midland, Texas. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. She was born near Crawford, Texas, on September 23, 1913. She attended schools in Waco, and married Glenn Eason in Waco on November 29, 1934. The family lived in East Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, and returned to Waco in 1966. She was recently a resident of St. Elizabeth Assisted Living Center. Myrtle was always the gracious hostess, cooking and entertaining friends and family in her pretty home. She was a capable bookstore manager and school secretary, but her first love was always her home and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; four sisters, two brothers, and her sons-in-law, Truman Branscum and Joe Biggs. Her daughters, Sara Branscum and Marty Biggs Hinson, son-in-law, Floy Hinson; grandsons, Brent Biggs and Byron Biggs, and their wives, Amy and Adriana, survive her. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Margaret, Ross, Grant, and Truman Biggs; and by five nieces and one nephew. The family would like to thank Myrtle's special friends and caregivers; Susie Tatum, Carol Badgett, Joe Gilbert, Frances Chavez, Ruth Downes, Pat Wood, Peggy Mattson, Louise Wilson, and the third floor angels at St. Elizabeth. Honorary pallbearers are Don Tatum, Bruce Paulus, Joe Gilbert, Ron Blank, Sam Badgett, Brent Mattson, Brian Mattson, and Blake Mattson.
