Nicholas Ferris Richardson King Sheldon

Nicholas Ferris Richardson King Sheldon of Waco, Texas, passed away on August 3, 2016. Everyone is invited to a Celebration of his Life to be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, at the Midway Performing Arts Center. The family also welcomes everyone to a casual Visitation/Tailgate from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, August 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Nick was born on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1998, in Waco, Texas, to Lisa and Rick Sheldon. He was a recent graduate of Midway High School who played Center on the Panthers Varsity Football teams of 2014 and 2015. As the starting Center for the Midway Panthers Varsity team, Nick was named unanimous All-District, Super Centex, Honorable Mention for the All-State team and Academic All-District. A natural comedian, Nick made friends everywhere he went. Nick loved as fiercely as he played and believed in living life boldly and freely. He always stood up for his friends and his beliefs and never backed down from a challenge. He is treasured by his family: our heart, our joy, and our laughter. He will be remembered as an incomparable friend, a gentle giant and the funniest guy in the room. Nick planned to attend TCU in the fall to study business and political science. He is pre-deceased by his paternal grandmother, Jackye Strating of San Antonio; and his maternal grandfather, Charles Ferris of Waco. He is survived by his parents, Lisa and Rick; his two sisters, Lauren and Larissa Sheldon; his grandmother, Edna Ferris of Waco; his grandfather, Carl Strating of San Antonio; aunts, Stephanie Garman, Lisa Ferris, Rebecca DeMarigny, Robin Strating and Kim Strating; uncles, Elias Ferris, Chris Garman and John DeMarigny; cousins, Zoe Garman, Sophia Garman, Charis Garman, Christo Garman, Anissa Garman, Melina Garman, Ansley Gough, Austin Gough, Aubrie Gough, Charlee Ferris, Alexandra DeMarigny and Mary Catherine DeMarigny. The family would like the community to know how much we appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received in this most difficult time. We are so grateful for the incredible care and compassion of the administration, Neurological and Trauma Teams at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center, and also of the emergency responders and the EMT team. We would also like to thank in particular, all of the teachers, coaches, parents, friends, and fans who made all of our lives so rich. Pallbearers are Riley DeWitt, Jacob Frisch, Christo Garman, Ross Ginsburg, Ben Hicks, Jon Ladner, Andy Mills, Evan Mock, Jaylan Moss, and Logan Paschall. Honorary pallbearers are the 2014 and 2015 Midway High School Football Teams. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home.
