Nona Jane Sansom

January 6, 1918 — June 27, 2005

Sansom, Jane Nona Jane Sansom, 87, was reunited with her husband and infant son on Monday, June 27, 2005. Services will be Wednesday, June 29 at 1:30 PM at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes in Fort Worth with Chaplain Craig Klempnauer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home, 6101 Bosque. Mrs. Sansom was born January 6, 1918 to Willie and Laura Bowen in Doole, Texas. She graduated from Gouldbusk High in May of 1935 and attended nursing school for two years in Brady, Texas. She married H. Eldon Sansom in Rochelle, Texas September 9, 1939. To that union were born three children. One of them, a son, died as an infant. At age 51, she went back to nursing school at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Fort Worth. She worked in the nursing profession for 30 years and retired at the age of 81. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco and was a faithful supporter of the Billy Graham Ministry. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and spent her life ministering through nursing. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son, Von Bowen Sansom; parents; brother, Tommy and three sisters, Eunice, Billie and Inez. She is survived by sister, Robbie Bennett of Salado; daughter, Lynda McColl and husband Jim of Mustang, Oklahoma; son, Tommy Sansom and wife Gwen of China Spring; seven grandchildren, Stephany and husband, Steve, Debbie, Jana, Melissa, Jason and wife Amanda, Traci and Kaci; nine great grandchildren; and other son, Stone Stephens and wife, Leslie Birdsong of Fort Worth.
