Opal Braswell February 7, 1911 - November 8, 2007 Opal Braswell of Waco passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Westview Manor in McGregor. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Opal was born February 7, 1911 in Winters, TX to Robert and Della Reed. She was a retired postal employee, served for Meals–On- Wheels and quilted every Tuesday at her church until she was in her 90’s. She was an active long time member of Central United Methodist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Les Braswell; sister, Eloise Havens and brother, Lloyd Reed. She is survived by her son, William G. Cooper and wife, Billie Frances of Robinson, TX.; daughter, Jimmie L. Snider and husband, John W. Snider of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Bryan D. Cooper and wife, Angie of San Antonio. TX; Bob Hunt of Waco; John E. Snider and wife, Ronda of Houston; and Curtis Wills and wife, Shirley of Waco; granddaughters, Janice Mills of Robinson; Debbie Duckworth and husband, Bobby of Hewitt; Cindy Owens and husband, Dave of Colorado Springs, CO; Sue Snider of Colorado Springs, CO; Karyn Meyreles and husband, Raul of Rancho Murieta, Cal; Connie Ross and husband, Ron of Rancho Cardova, Cal.; 20 great grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Hazel Powers and Bobbie Sanders of Valley Mills, Laneal Simpson of Ft. Worth. and many nieces and nephews.
