February 26, 1911 — October 4, 2004

HARRIS, PETE Pete Harris, 93 of Waco, died Monday, October 4, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, October 9 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Mitchell Parrish officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, October 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Harris was born February 26, 1911 in Leroy, Texas. He attended schools at Concord and LaVega. He served in the Navy in WWII in the South Pacific. He married Ila Mae Hall March 4, 1934 in Waco, she preceded him in death. He worked for the MKT RR for two years before entering the Navy. He was a draftsman for Central Texas Iron Works for 30 years, retiring February 26, 1976. He was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. He had been a deacon since 1936. He was a member of Fidelis Lodge #1127 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Survivors include daughter, Velma Jean Kolwitz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
