PETER P. MILLER Peter P. Miller, 89, of Waco died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at the funeral home. Mr. Miller was born July 20, 1914, in Highland Park, Michigan and was a graduate of Highland Park High School. He married his loving wife, Genella Gordon, on November 18, 1942 and celebrated their 61st anniversary last year. He proudly served his country in World War II and received several decorations, including the Bronze Battle Star. Mr. Miller spent 21 years as a research technician and instructor of neurology at Wayne State University College of Medicine and Baylor University College of Medicine. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a Past Exulted Ruler of the Tucson Elks, a longtime member of the American Bowling Congress, a member of the Starlite Dance Club, and a volunteer for Tucson Special Olympics and Tucson LPGA events. Mr. Miller wan an honorable man, who loved and cherished his wife, family, friends, and country. He is survived by his devoted wife, Genella Miller; sons, Gordon of Spokane, Washington, and Paul and wife Kelly of Hewitt; and granddaughters, Stephanie David Curtice and husband Raymond of College Station, and Lauren Blocker of Hewitt. Pallbearers will be Hal Lawler, Darrell Bledsoe, Brian Holton, Steve Everett, Wayne Duncan and Gary Duncan.
