Rebecca Inez Burke March 8, 1924 - July 27, 2012 Rebecca Inez Burke of Plano, Texas, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at Spring Creek Gardens in Plano. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park. Rebecca was born March 8, 1924, in Statesville, North Carolina, to Everett and Daisy Smith, Jr. She was a teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of Christ American Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Burke, Sr.; parents; one son, Michael Burke; a sister, Irene Seelig; and four brothers, Paul, Howard, E.M., and David Smith. She is survived by one son, John Burke and wife, Sherry, of Dallas; a daughter, Cathy Burke Wachter and husband, Ed, of St. Paul, TX; a brother, Bobby Smith and wife, Virginia, of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Barbara Smith, of Knoxville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
