Richard Gary Sellers September 29, 1944 – January 2, 2007 Richard G. Sellers, 62, of Waco passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Robinson. Visitation with the family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Richard Sellers was born on September 29, 1944, in Waco, Texas. He was the son of O.R. “Dick” Sellers and Lela Faye Hunt Sellers. He attended Richfield High School, Texas Tech University, and Stephen F. Austin University. He dedicated his work life to continuing the family business, Sellers Sales Company, started by his father in 1958. Richard Sellers was a great man who loved his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was a talented musician, songwriter, chef, and entertainer. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish and hunt. He also was an enthusiastic collector of antiques, especially western memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his father, O. R. “Dick” Sellers. He is survived by his mother, Lela Faye Hunt Sellers; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Sellers Markum and Michael Thomas Markum; son and daughter-in-law, Chris Sellers and Elvia Sellers; daughter, Lee Sellers; daughter, Susan Fortunata; three grandchildren, Richard “Richie” Sellers, Olan Sellers, and Graham Fortunata; niece, Kim Markum Pirkle, and her husband, Neal Pirkle; niece, Allison Markum Heath; two grand-nephews, Hunter Heath and Graham Pirkle; and two grand-nieces, Hannah Heath and Riley Pirkle. Pallbearers for the services will be Barry Box, Tyler Boykin, Wade Rooks, Donald Keltner, John B. McNamara, III, Bill McWhorter, Jerry Snyder, and Jeff Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Banta, Kenneth Bell, Leo Bradshaw, R. J. Crump, Tommy deGraffenried, Sheridan Duncan, Bill Gandy, Manuel Gonzales, Jim Greenwood, Charles Husbands, Tommy Husbands, John Jones, David King, Richard Lack, Walter Lacy, Matt Mathews, Tanner Mahan, Jim McDermitt, Tim Taylor, Bill Williams, and Mario Zuniga. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
