Rob Ray Crook November 2, 1927 - January 8, 2014 Rob Ray Crook of Woodway, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Providence Hospice Place. Services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Frank Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Rob was born November 2, 1927 in Lorena, Texas to Lee and Clara Bess Crook. Rob graduated from Baylor in 1953 and received his Master's Degree in Economics in 1954. He began his career with Bellmead State Bank and was in the banking business from 1954 through 1987, retiring from First Federal Savings and Loan. Rob attended Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. He was active in farming in Speegleville and helped organize the McLennan County Junior Livestock Show. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six brothers, Emory, Coke, Edward, Aubrey, Vernon and Billy Crook. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Crook; his son, Rob Roy Crook of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and daughter, Margaret George and husband, Robert of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Georgie and Hank Holland, Bobby and Jack George; his sister, Helen Stem of Waco; and numerous other family members. Honorary pallbearers are Robert George, Rob Roy Crook, Ted Hernandez, Jeff Davis, Ted Vicha and Kevin Krause. The family wants to thank Dr. Maydee Rosario and the entire staff of Waco Lung Associates for their care and compassion, and the staff of Providence Hospice Place.
