Roy James Dennison August 26, 1926 - August 20, 2010 Roy James Dennison of Waco passed away Friday, August 20, 2010. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Ron Durham and Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 8 p.m., Monday, August 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Roy was born August 26, 1926, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Christie and Hilda Dennison. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from the Univ. of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from the Dept. of Transportation in Washington, D.C. Roy was a very active member, deacon and greeter at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his only brother, Warren and nephew, Johnny. He is survived by his wife, Lula Mae Dennison; step-daughter, Judy Smith, of Waco; step-son, Roger Mosley and wife, Linda, of Port Angeles, WA; grandchildren, Jason and Jonathan Mosley, Katie Pich and husband, Dan, and Scott Smith; and two nieces, Theo Hughes and Gail Korth. Pallbearers are Jason Mosley, Scott Smith, Jerry Harvey, John Paul Harvey, Alan Smith and Harvey McCall. Memorials may be made to Waco Public Library, Habitat For Humanity, Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, Compassion Ministries, Hillcrest Hospital, or your choice of charity.
