Russell Lee Wilson June 8, 1918 - February 2, 2011 Russell Lee Wilson, 92, of Waco, began his heavenly life Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Amos Humphries officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Russell was born June 8, 1918, in Glenns, Virginia, to James and Eva Wilson. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. After his service he married and moved to Waco. He was employed by Bird-Kultgen Ford. After retiring Russell was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross. He was a member of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church and a charter 50-year life member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and a Master Mason of the Fidelis Masonic Lodge 1127 of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was an avid outdoorsman. Russell loved to travel and camp. He was instrumental in organizing the Karem Kampers and served several years as president. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Helton Wilson; his wife of 54 years, Marilynn McAlister Wilson; son, Russell L. Wilson, Jr.; two sisters, Hilda Bland and Rebecca Sears; brothers, Ernest, Ray, Willie, Nelson and Woodford; a grandson, Kevin Don Bradburry; and son-in-law, Richard Don Bradburry. Survivors include daughters, Ruth Thornton and husband, Jack, of Speegleville, Texas, and Lana Bradburry of West; son, Milton L. Mitch Wilson of Ennis, TX; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many cherished friends and loved ones. The family would like to thank Phyllis Webley, the Scott & White Hospice unit of Hillcrest Hospital, and the staff of Ridgecrest Retirement Center for their wonderful care.
