Ruth Halbert November 23, 1919 – September 19, 2007 Mary Ruth Gibson Halbert passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007. Graveside services will be at 11:30 am Saturday, September 22 at Bosqueville Cemetery with Rev. Jack Mullins officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday, September 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Ruth was born November 23, 1919 in Eddy, Texas. She was a good hearted lady who lit up a room with her infectious laughter and could concoct a celestial Mississippi Mud Cake. She enthusiastically loved her family, church, dogs, dinner theaters and nature. Ruth had a world class generous spirit. Despite her numerous accomplishments as a Registered Nurse, she had a modest, genuine and sincere down-to-earth nature. She had a zest for life and quickly turned strangers into friends. You didn't have to know Ruth very long before she would invite you to supper. Ruth was a member of the greatest generation. Ruth served her country in World War II and faithfully served her family, friends and church during the rest of her life. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Oliver I. Halbert, III. She is survived by a son, Oliver I. Halbert, IV and wife, Penny of Valley Mills; daughters, Mary Lynda Taylor and husband, Reese of Carrollton and Billie Jo Bullard of Farmersville; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Bebe Benjamin of Kerrville; sisters-in-law, Helen Gibson of Hewitt, Abigail Kamm and husband, Harlan of Waco and Mary Mellgren and husband, Walter of West; brother-in-law, Edgar Stone of Port Arthur and numerous nieces and nephews.
