Ruth Keen Levy passed away on Friday, October 7, 2005 quietly at her home. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2005 at Rodef Sholom Cemetery, with Rabbi Mordecai Podet officiating. Burial will follow at Rodef Sholom Cemetery. Ruth was born October 29, 1909 in Waco, to Ben and Rosa Levinson Keen. Ruth earned a BA degree from Baylor University, one of the first women to graduate from Baylor. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Jewish Reform faith. She was a member of Temple Rodef Sholom in Waco. Mrs. Levy’s greatest interest was her family. She was a wonderful sister and loved very much by her brothers. She was a great aunt, very generous to her nieces and loved by them very much. She was a very caring and loving daughter to her widowed mother and had many friends. A very special thanks to Gertrude Howard for her many years of loving care for Mrs. Levy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E. Ray Levy; and brothers, Marvin David Keen and Arnold Leon Keen. She is survived by her brother, Norman J. Keen and wife, Natalie of Waco, TX; nieces, Dianne Keen Wadler and husband, Dr. David Wadler, Barbara Keen Drell and husband, Dr. William Drell, and Cynthia Keen Perlman and husband, Brett, all of Houston; great-nieces, Dr. Melissa Bloome and husband, Dr. David Bloome, Lindsay Hyman and husband Jonathan, of Houston, Elizabeth Wadler of New York City, Allison Drell, Laurie Drell, and Hallie Perlman of Houston; great nephews, Brian Perlman, Jarrett Wadler, and Drew Perlman of Houston; and great-great nephew, Jackson Keen Bloome of Houston.
