Ruth Small Moser

April 24, 1918 — April 12, 2009

Ruth Small Moser April 24, 1918-April 12, 2009 When Ruth Small Moser died on Easter Day, Waco lost one of its most compassionate and energetic volunteers. A Requiem Mass in the Usus Antiquior will be offered at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Liebham as Celebrant. Mrs. Moser lived by a creed best expressed by the words of St. Theresa of Avila: “Christ has no Body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which He looks compassion on the world. Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world.” For 20 years, countless patients at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital were soothed by Mrs. Moser’s gentle hands and comforting voice as they faced various medical emergencies. She volunteered 40 hours during the work week at Hillcrest before turning her considerable musical talent to serving local Baptist churches on the weekends. When she “retired” from service to Hillcrest, she simply transferred her enthusiasm to serve God and His suffering “children” to local nursing homes, where she volunteered for 10 years. After Mrs. Moser’s own arthritis confined her to a walker or wheelchair, she turned to her talent as a pianist and teamed up with her husband, Dr. L.E. Moser, to present a program of music and inspiration at two or three nursing homes per week. Mrs. Moser’s proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Michael Moser, Dr. Kay Moser, and Stan Moser as well as by her grandchildren, Steven, Terry and Jackson Moser. Ruth Small Moser was a great lady, a devoted wife and mother, and a profound Christian. No one who knew of her limitless love for Jesus could be surprised that God chose to take her home on Easter Day.wit The family requests that memorials be made to Care Net Crisis Pregnancy Center, 4700 W.
