Syble Allene Jenkins, age 90, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at Providence Hospice Place. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, at Western Heights Baptist Church in Waco. The service will be officiated by Kip Osborne. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd in Waco. She was born in Woodland, Texas, and grew up in the nearby town of Detroit. She married Johnny C. Jenkins on April 24, 1946. She worked for the W. T. Grant Co. for many years, volunteered at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, and retired from the USPS as a machine operator. She loved to sew, travel, share family photos, and play Canasta with her friends. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church for more than 50 years, and cherished her relationship with the church and its members. She was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters; her husband, Johnny C. Jenkins; son-in-law, Hoppy Cantrell; and grandsons, Mike Jenkins and Joshua Jenkins. She is survived by her children, James Jenkins and wife, Charlotte, of Bastrop, Texas, Barbara Cantrell of Mesquite, Texas, Gayle Henderson and husband, Leo, of Hewitt, Texas, Driscoll Jenkins and wife, Laura, of Clifton, Texas, Byron Jenkins and wife, Bridget, of Clifton, and Deborah Ivy and husband, Freddie, of Waco; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony Henderson, Ed Cantrell, Tim Jenkins, Korrie Ivy, Luke Snyder, and Dennis Williams. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice Place, who gave great care and compassion during her time of need.
