TERRY WAYNE VRBA June 16, 1966 June 6, 2008 Terry Wayne Vrba, 41, passed away Friday June 6, 2008 at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio after a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 10th at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Rosary service will be at 6:00pm, Monday, June 9th at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home with visitation following. Terry was born June 16, 1966 in Waco to Eugene and Virginia "Sweetie" Vrba. Terry earned his high school education in Waco and multiple honors on the athletic field. He was all-district as the starting quarterback for the Midway Panthers and had the tapes at hand to prove it! He excelled even higher on the baseball diamond, earning a scholarship to Southwest Texas State University where he was the starting catcher his junior and senior year before earning his degree in exercise and sports studies in the Spring of 1990. It is easy to speak of Terry's well documented prowess on the athletic field, but those accomplishments did not define him as a person. He had the unbelievable ability to make you smile when you were around him. Whether it was his total recall of thousands of jokes or his talent to impersonate you, you always left Terry feeling better. It was in his DNA to be positive and everyone around him fed off of his energy. Whether he was dealt a bad hand at poker or down 14 points in the fourth quarter, he never thought he would fail at anything. It was this attitude that helped him succeed in the business world as a salesman. He started as a salesman for Miller Beer and moved to Unifirst Corp. where he consistently broke sales records and was recognized as one of their top salesperson. But his entrepreneurial spirit led Terry to open up his own business. He started Champion Linens in the summer of 2007 and was quickly outgrowing the facility he started in, just a year ago. No description of Terry would be complete without mentioning the three things in his life that he cared about the most; Lane, Macy, and little Blake. Terry was a caring, loving, devoted father whose kids knew they were loved by their daddy. They were his life and he did everything for them. Not only is Lane a great athlete in his own right, he is a straight A student excelling in all advanced classes. Macy is the future cheerleader who had Terry wrapped around her finger and was daddy's little girl. Blake is the baby who gets away with anything and loves Lane, Macy, and Terry with all her heart. Terry had a zest for life and he lived each day to the fullest. He knew that each day was a gift, that's why we call it the "present". His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and whatever team Lane was on. He loved spending time with his family and friends over a backyard BBQ, good round of golf, and a cold one. You will never meet a person with more character than Terry Vrba. We are all proud to call him a friend, brother, son, father, and uncle. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Francis Vrba. He is survived by a son, Lane and daughters, Mason Macy, and Blake Marie and their mother, Mindy; mother, Virginia Vrba and special friend Mountie Howard; longtime girlfriend Vicki Brewer and her children, Zachary and Madilyn of San Antonio; sisters, Sandy Pulliam of Waco, Deborah and husband Robby Hillin of Valley Mills, Lisa and husband David Choate of Dallas; brothers, Randy Vrba of Waco; Gary Vrba and wife Denise of Gatesville; nieces and nephews, Billy Blanton and wife Andria of Waco, Charlie Blanton of Waco, Monica and husband Bubba Moffatt of Salado, Matthew Vrba of Waco, Michelle Vrba of Waco, David and Ryan Choate of Dallas, Adam Ray and Jamie Summers of Gatesville. Pallbearers will be Jeff Kilgore, Todd Brehm, Tommy Kirk, Brian Lane, Mark Miller and Preston Baylor. The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to Vicki's family, Jeff Kilgore, and the numerous family and friends for all of their help, support and prayers during this difficult time.
