BROCK, VIRGINIA Virginia Brock, age 81 of Waco passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Sunday, April 18, 2004. Services will be held at 11am Wednesday, April 21 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bryan Pendleton officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, April 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Virginia was born October 7, 1922 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Roy and Violet Thurston. She moved to Waco with her family as an infant, where she later met J.D. Brock, the love of her life. They married July 5, 1941 and were life long residents of Waco. Virginia enjoyed traveling and especially cherished her time in Hawaii. Some of Virginia’s favorite hobbies were collecting deer, bluebonnets and miniature telephones in memory of her loving husband J.D. Virginia loved children and she adored her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Brock and brother, Bill Thurston. She is survived by sons, Jerry Brock and wife, Chris of Montgomery, Texas, Bill Brock and wife, Cathy of Shalimar, Florida and David Brock and wife, Mary of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren, Kevin, Trevor, Micah, Dejon, Jonathan, and Jacob; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Mandel, Pat Elrod, and Barbara Rickard all of Waco; sister-in-law, Doris Thurston of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and brothers-in-law, Charles Brock of Waco and Robert Brock of Austin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Hospice. Virginia will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
