W. W. Bill Holder

July 15, 1919 — December 24, 2007

W. W. Holder, Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord at a local nursing center on December 24, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rebecca Hull officiating. Burial with Masonic services will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Bill was a longtime member of Robinson Drive United Methodist Church. He retired in 1982 after 29 years of service with Rocketdyne and Hercules. For many years, he and Lucille spent their summers camping in the Colorado Rockies Bill loved the mountains where they made many dear, lifelong friends. Bill was a dedicated member of Baylor Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, holding various positions, including past Master of the Lodge. He enjoyed teaching Masonry with a fervent zeal. Being a longtime endowed member of Scottish Rite and the Karem Shrine, he was a proud recipient of the Golden Trowel and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jacqueline Lange, and brother, Gene. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Tonahill Holder; son Jim L. Holder and wife, Carol of Woodway; daughter Linda Sandhoff and husband Ross, of South Bosque; grandchildren: Trey Sandhoff and Lori Sandhoff; and sister: Marjorie Troutt and husband, Robert. The family wishes to express it’s thanks to the caring nursing staff at Regent Care Center, to Hillcrest Community Hospice caregivers, and special thanks to Rev. Rebecca Hull. Pallbearers will be Joe Morgan, Jerry Odle, Ed Archer, Joe Rebrovich, Ray Rushing and Brooks Gunn. Honorary pallbearers include all members of the Baylor Masonic Lodge.
