YETT, WALTER H. JR. Walter H. Yett, Jr., 82 of Waco, died Monday, May 31, 2004 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at Oakwood Cemetery with The Rev. Frank Mangum officiating. Mr. Yett was born November 18, 1921 at the Yett Ranch House in Burnet County to Walter H. and Annie Laura Marquardt Yett. He graduated from High School in Jacksonville, Texas and attended Lon Morris College in Jacksonville. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He worked for the U.S. Government in New Orleans. He was a U.S. Government inspector in Ponca City, Oklahoma and then with the U.S. Postal service in Waco for 40 years retiring in 1986. He married Lucile Smith June 6, 1944. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco. Mr. Yett was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Lola Lamb Smith and his brother, Adrian L. Yett, daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Mark Lee. Survivors include wife, Lucile Smith Yett of Waco; son, Kenneth D. Yett and beloved daughter-in-law, Mildred L. Yett of Waco; and granddaughter, Laura Lee Slack and husband, Joel of Waco. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Miles, Rev. Harold Federwisch, Calvin Adams, Johnny Gonzales, Ramon Casteneda, Dutch Schroeder, Raymond Teske, and Dr. Marvin Lamb.
