Amanda Huninghake

November 26, 1983 — June 28, 2025

Waco

Amanda Lea Huninghake, 41, passed away June 28, 2025 at home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 5, at 4 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Amanda was born on November 26, 1983, in Waco and raised in Corsicana, Texas. For more than 25 years Amanda worked as a general manager, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives through the work she did beside them.

Amanda's laughter was contagious, and her humor unforgettable. She had a knack for turning ordinary moments into laughter, with her quick wit bringing light to everyone around her. She dreamed of traveling and embraced any chance she had.

Time and time again, she opened her home and her heart, becoming a mother not only to her own, but to so many others whose lives were forever changed by her kindness.

She cherished the simple joy of driving with the windows down, music turned up loud, and her hand drifting out into the breeze—letting the wind dance between her fingers like a quiet celebration of freedom. Amanda loved working on puzzles, reading, cheering on her beloved Packers, and spending time with family—especially when it meant playing games.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son Trey; her mothers Ellen, Diana and Susan; her grandfather Jimmie; and her brother-in-law, Michael.

She is survived by her wife, Laura; her loving mother Tamera; her fathers Billy, Kenneth and Ron; her daughters Hayley, Kenzie, and Hannaha and spouses Justice and Eli; her sisters Crystal, Ashley, Kelly; her brothers Billy Jr, John, and Sean; her grandchildren Trevor, Joshua, Lexi, and Zariaha; her grandparents Barbara and Dorothy; as well as many cherished relatives and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Amanda’s family invites you to share a memory or a message on her online “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.

Rest in peace, Amanda. You will be missed!
