Carroll Ralph Simcik, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in Waco, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 94.
Visitation for family and friends will be, Friday, May 16th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, with Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m.
A native of Waco he was born December 10, 1930, to the late John and Mary Hanak Simcik. Carroll dedicated his life to family, his country and community, and his profession. Carroll enjoyed fulfilling career, working with his father and brothers in the family plumbing business, "John Simcik Plumbing," where he served the community for more than 40 years. He took pride in this work and was a respected member of the Waco community. His service extended beyond the family business; he also served in the Army Reserves for over 40 years demonstrating his commitment to his country, retiring from the Reserves in 1990.
A proud graduate of Waco High School, Carroll pursued higher education at St. Edward's University before graduating from Baylor University in 1952, an accomplishment he treasured throughout his life. As an avid Baylor Bear fan, his loyalty to the university remained steadfast.
Carroll's personal life was filled with joy and love, as he married his beloved Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Kleypas on November 14, 1953. Together they built a life rich with memories. Carroll and Betty were longtime members of St. Louis Catholic Church. Carroll was known for his delicious barbecue chicken, often enjoyed during gatherings where polka music filled the air and the warmth of family surrounded him. He had a passion for playing the accordion and polka dancing. His vegetable gardening and beautiful rose gardens brought him joy. He cultivated his gardens with great pride, and enjoyed giving to others the fruits of his labor. Carroll's vegetables and roses will be missed by all those he shared them with.
Carroll is survived by his four children, Elizabeth Demaria and her husband Geoffrey, Stephen Simcik, Michael Simcik and his wife, Vickie, and David Simcik; five grandchildren, Blake Demaria and his wife, Erica, Hollie Warschak, Amy Rachuig and her husband, Ben, Trey Simcik and his wife, Whitney, and Melissa Baerman and her husband, Matt; and five great-grandchildren, Parker, Elizabeth, Hagan, Hannah, and Sutton, along with numerous other loving family members and friends who cherished him deeply.
Carroll was preceded in death his parents, John and Mary Hanak Simcik, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Leona Simcik and John and Mary Lee Simcik, and his devoted wife of over 65 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Kleypas Simcik.
Carroll Ralph Simcik will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his contributions to his family, community, and the love he so generously gave to those around him. His legacy of pride in his Czech background and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
