Catherine Mary Carkhuff

Catherine Mary Carkhuff September 30, 1912 November 5, 2008 Catherine Mary Carkhuff died on November 5, 2008, in Clifton, Texas. In keeping with Ms. Carkhuff's wishes, there will not be a memorial service. She was born on September 30, 1912, in Waco, Texas, and was the only child of Warren and Nancy Carkhuff, who preceded her in death. Ms. Carkhuff graduated from Baylor University in 1933 and was a member of the Golden Wave Band. She taught school on Army bases in Germany and Japan after World War II and traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia, including Russia. She returned to Waco and retired from teaching at University High School where she influenced many students during her teaching career.
