Clyde Landon Martin April 19, 1906 - April 8, 2010 Clyde Landon Martin of Waco passed away, at the age of 103, on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 12, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Clyde was born April 19, 1906, in Limestone County, TX to John and Jesse Martin. He moved to Waco to sell cars in 1936 and retired at the age of 85. He was a long time member of North Waco Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 60 years. Clyde was a member of the George N. Denton Masonic Lodge 24 AFAM, since 1940; the Karen Shrine Temple and the Waco Scottish Rite. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edna; sons, Charles Curtis, Eugene and Leo Martin; and three grandsons. He is survived by his three daughters; LaVelle Henderson and husband, Tom, of Waco, Noogie Clark of Waco, and Clydene Sherwood and husband, James, of Indiana. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild; his sister, Maudine Mainard of Waco; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family wishes to extend heart-felt gratitude to the staff of St. Catherine and Providence Hospice.
