Corene Wesley Haney

Corene Wesley Haney, 80, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a brief battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wilirrson-Hatch Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Redeemer Waco with Jeff Hatton officiating. Those attending are invited to honor Corene by wearing their favorite Texas Rangers gear or purple, a reflection of the things she loved.

Born on January 7, 1946, Corene grew up in Ennis, Texas where she graduated and started her family. She lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and faith. She was a devoted mother, Nana, sister, and friend who brought comfort and joy to those around her. Known for her warm heart and steady presence, Corene had a special way of making people feel at home.

She found happiness in the simple things she loved most—Elvis Presley, cheering on her beloved Texas Rangers, and never missing an episode of General Hospital. These small joys brought her comfort and were part of what made her so uniquely herself.

Corene was a woman of faith who leaned on the Lord throughout her life. Her family finds peace in knowing she is now resting in His presence, healed and whole.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kelly Allender; her grandsons, Kristopher Allender and his wife Reina Medrano, and Jared Chiv-Johnson and his wife Courtney Chiv-Johnson; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Anthony Allender, Zander Nguyen, Gavyn, Charles, and Elliott Chiv-Johnson.

She is also survived by her brothers, Don Wesley and William Wesley and his wife Norma Wesley, along with extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
