She married Domingo Requena and together they had two children; Theresa and Gabriel. Lola was known for her great cooking, she loved to make big family meals and never wanted anyone to leave her house hungry.
She was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her remarkable ability to serve others. She spent most of her life being a homemaker, first raising her children and later raising her two granddaughters – Leesa and Olivya. She had a love of fast cars, which was one reason her and Domingo got along so well in the beginning. She often spoke about her first car, a 1966 Ford Mustang.
Recently she joined the ACTS community and was loved and adored by her newfound Sisters. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she received all her Holy Sacraments, with Fr. Eduardo performing her Last Rites just a few days before her passing. Lola began to attend the Harrison Senior Center, in Waco, where she met her best friends Bernice, Trish, Debra, Annette and Sherryl.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents Eloisa and Frank Mata, husband Domingo, her daughter Theresa Requena de Patena, Granddaughter Leesa Marie, brother Steven Mata, Sister-in law Alicia Requena-Garcia and Brother-in-Law Adam Requena.
