Dorothy Louise Alquinson

Dorothy L. Alquinson, 92, of Waco, passed away on February 26, 2022 in Waco. Funeral services will be held at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with the Bro. Mike Ferus, Bro. Reggie Blake, and Bro. Harley Gordon of Beacon Hill Baptist Church, officiating at 10 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8pm on Monday, February 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home on Bosque Blvd. Dorothy Louise was born in Rosenthal, Texas, to Lois Griffin Slaughter Hensley and Dewey Slaughter on August 17, 1929. She went to school at Rosenthal and Robinson, Texas. She married George Clark on August 17, 1946 in Rosenthal and had six children. She ended her working career at the Attorney General Office as an office clerk. She spent over ten years after retirement attending weekly water aerobics classes at the Center, part of Columbus Ave Baptist. She made lots of friends through these classes. She also had a great love for her four-legged puppy dogs. She was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church and attended regularly. Dorothy was preceeded in death by her parents, Dewey Slaughter, John and Lois Hensley; brother Dewey Lee Slaughter; daughter, Sherri Gervais Tatum; and grandson, Reubin Gervais. She is survived by daughters Barbara Contreras and husband, Gabriel, Kay Sanchez and husband, Lee, Dorothy Lewis and husband, Mitch, all of Waco, Mary Deckard and husband, Wayne of Tallulah, Louisiana; and her son, Danny Clark and friend, Sandra Pena of Waco; brother, Harvie Hensley of Waco; grandchildren, Jason Deleon and McLon Hood of Waco, Gabriel Contreras Jr of San Antonio, Texas, Nathan Sanchez of Austin, Texas, Heather Holzman and husband Chris of McGregor, Texas, Rachel Shupee and husband, Stephen of Renton, Washington, Eric Lewis, of Waco, Corey Carlisle and wife, Nadine of Azle, Texas, Randy Carlisle and wife, Jennifer of Jarrell, Texas, Cara Bowling and husband, Kevin of Waco, Joey Carlisle and wife, Melissa of Princeton, Texas, Michael Lewis and wife, Michelle of Waco, Candace Bland and husband, Jeremiah of Waco; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be grandsons, with great grandsons as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Beacon Hill Baptist Church or you can plant some flowers in honor of Dorothy, as she loved having beautiful flowers around her.
