Mrs. Geneva McCloud Eastland, of McGregor, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements. The funeral service has been set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the chapel at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX 76710. There will be a reception after the funeral services in the Garden Room at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing, nor public interment services. Mrs. Geneva McCloud Eastland was born to the parentage of Thomas “Tom” and Virda (Green) McCloud in Kurten, Texas on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932. She received her high school education from George Washington Carver High School in McGregor, Texas, graduating with the class of 1950. Her baptism and acceptance of Christ occurred at an early age in Kurten, Texas and she later re-dedicated her life to Christ at High Valley Baptist Church in San Saba, Texas. She fellowshipped with St. Paul A.M.E Church, Harvest Time Revival Center in Waco, Texas, and Community Bible Church Bulverde (CBCB), in Spring Branch, Texas. She lived her young adult life in San Saba, Texas with her husband, George Ray Eastland, Jr. and four children until her husband died in 1967. She moved from San Saba to McGregor, Texas in 1967 and worked from 1967 until her retirement in 1994, working for two companies – Woods Industries and Owens-Illinois. Her last and longest employer was the Owens Illinois glass plant where she worked for 21 years with no sick time absences; a record for which she was immensely proud. She loved to fish, sew, read, and cook during her earlier years, and then slowed down significantly to fully enjoy retirement. In October 2013, she moved to Spring Branch, TX to live and enjoy her own separate wing of a family home built by her oldest daughter, Raydonna, near San Antonio, Texas. Her focus then became working in her search puzzle book and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are one son, Ralph Everett Eastland of Waco, Texas, three daughters, Raydonna Eastland Adams of Spring Branch, TX, Helena Faye Eastland of Waco, TX and Hilda Gayle Eastland of Cedar Park, TX; three grandchildren, Tracey Keith Eastland (Joe) of Shiremanstown, PA, Ramona Adams Jones of San Diego, CA, and Eva Marie Eastland Johnson of Jarrell, TX; four great grandchildren, Rachelle Sherisse Berry of Fort Worth, TX, Rayna Shenisse Berry of Oceanside, CA, Andre Everett Griffin and Victoria Marie Johnson of Jarrell, TX. She also leaves many special nieces, nephews, and sons-in-laws, as well as other family members and friends to cherish her memory. The family invites you to leave a message or memory of Geneva on her “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com. |
