George James (Jim) Moen, 87, of McGregor, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jim's life at a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco. Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for brief graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery.
Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, known for his humor, kindness, and friendly spirit.
Born on November 9, 1938, in Waco to George and Ollie Mae Moen. Jim grew up in a loving family that instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity. He carried these values throughout his life, both in his professional career and personal relationships.
A graduate of Waco High School and Baylor University, Jim dedicated almost 50 years to his company, JMA Plastics Inc., where he was known for his client care, vast knowledge of materials, and industrial application problem solving. His colleagues admired his attention to detail and his quickness to connect personally with people. Outside of work, Jim was active in the life of Waco, serving on the board of Waco Family Counseling and Children’s Services for decades. He served on the vestry of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and was president of Waco Lions Club where he had a special place in his heart for the Texas Lion’s Camp in Kerrville.
A devoted family man, Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Gale, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, James Rockwell (Mary) Moen, Eric (Amy) Moen, his brother the Rev. Allison (Bonnie) Moen, and his grandchildren, Caroline (Cody) Seabolt, William (Taylor) Moen , Elsa (Jonathan) Lammey and Jens Moen, greatgrandchildren Grayson, Nathan, Franklin, and Elizabeth, nephews Aaron Jon (Rachel) Moen and Matthew Moen, and great niece, Annalise, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. Jim loved spending time in the home he and Gale created above the Middle Bosque River and sharing it with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jim's memory to St. Alban’s Carillon Bells Fund.
The family invites you to leave a message or memory on Jim's Memorial Guestbook at www.WHBfamily.com
