GEORGE MADISON DORMAN George Madison Bud Dorman, age 95 of Wortham Bend, died Friday, November 8, 2002 in San Antonio, Texas. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bosque County. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Dorman was born June 4, 1907 in the Greenock Community in Bosque County, Texas. He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1932. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While stationed in Ft. Smith, Arkansas he met Charlene Mitchell, and they were married on his birthday, June 4, 1947. Mr. Dorman was a long-time employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a county supervisor for Farmer’s Home Administration. He retired in 1972 and returned to Bosque County. While living on the Dorman Ranch, he was host to many wonderful gatherings of family and friends. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He belonged to Oak Grove Baptist Church for 30 years and was active in the congregation as long as he was able. He was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Mr. Dorman was preceded in death by Mrs. Dorman and by their son, George Madison Dorman, Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Dorman of San Antonio; sisters, Mabel Downey of Meridian, Ellen Nott of Houston and Faye Leaird of Valley Village, California; brother, Dugan Dorman and wife Delores of Wortham Bend; granddaughters, Amy Willie and husband Mike of San Antonio, and Mary Herridge and husband Brad of Wortham Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wes Dorman, Jim Dorman, Wade Woehrmann, Antonio Flamenco, Billy Brown, Joe Flores, Mike Willie and Brad Herridge will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church or the hospice of choice.
