Geraldine Lee McCarty

Geraldine Lee McCarty, 89, passed on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Ridgecrest Retirement and Healthcare in Waco. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Services will begin on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with Pastor Buddy Sipe officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Geraldine was born in Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) New Mexico on February 13, 1937. She grew up in the Bentonville Arkansas area and moved to Waco where she met and married Jack Hodde in 1960. Geraldine was a Christian attending Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco. She loved games, Skipbo, checkers, Uno and others. She greatly enjoyed working puzzles. She found joy and happiness with her children and grandchildren around her. Always had a hug and an “I love you” for those around her.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hodde, her son Jackie Leach, her only brother John Bates and her son-in-law Mark Rosecrants.

She is survived by her daughter Leonora Rosecrants, son Samuel Hodde, and his wife Dora Almaguer; four sisters; Becky, Sue, Mary and Betty; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter along with numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all who remember Geraldine, came to the services, sent messages and kept her family in thoughts and prayers.

Pallbearers will be Michael Leach, Steven Rosecrants, Allison Maugham, Katie Hodde, Joshua Hodde and Sam Hodde.
