Gina Annette Mohundro passed away peacefully at home, August 8th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas, with Sherri Evans officiating.

Gina was born January 13, 1966, in Waco, Texas, and grew up in the Northcrest Area of Waco, where she would attend and graduate from Connally High School in 1984. While attending Connally High, she would meet her partner for life, Shawn Mohundro, and they were married on February 14, 1987. In her working years, Gina was Executive Secretary at Midland State Bank in Effingham, Illinois, as well as the Executive Secretary at Extraco Bank in Waco, Texas. Beyond her successful professional life, Gina’s most meaningful job was raising her two sons, taking care of her family and being a loving wife. First and foremost, Gina was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan with unwavering loyalty. She also loved trying new wines and foods then excitedly sharing them with her friends and family. Gina also enjoyed a bit of gambling with a nice glass of Chardonnay. Her entertainment choices were as diverse as her interests, including binge-worthy marathons of the Harry Potter series, Modern Family, Young Sheldon, Real Housewives, and the entire Marvel universe. Gina was fortunate enough to watch the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in her home with her family before her passing.

Gina is preceded in death by her husband, Shawn Mohundro; her maternal grandmother, Aurora Benavidez; her maternal grandfather, Jose Benavidez; her paternal grandmother, Crecencia Gonzales; and her paternal grandfather, Henry Gonzales.

Gina is survived by her mother, Josephine Gonzales; her father, Charles Gonzales; her eldest son, John Mohundro; her youngest son, Jacob Mohundro; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Mohundro; her twin sister, Tina Solano and spouse; her younger brother, Robert Kent; and her younger sister, Stephanie Ulbig and spouse.
