Gladys Opal Stevenson passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Services will be graveside, Friday, November 30, 11:30 a.m., at the Robinson Cemetery, Robinson, Texas. Gladys was born July 28, 1922 in Bremond, TX to William James and Pearlie Mae Otwell, Sr. She attended Bremond High School. She played softball, tennis, volleyball and was a cheerleader for the Bremond High Football Team. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bremond. Gladys married L.M. George Stevenson on June 3, 1939, in Waco before moving to Ft. Worth in 1945. She worked during WWII for the North American Aviation, Inc., as a timekeeper in Waco. In Ft. Worth she worked as assistant manager for the B&G Hosiery Company from 1950 to 1953. Also she worked for the Marvin Keith Lighting Fixture Co. for 15 years as store manager and lighting consultant. She was employed for the W. J. Hancock Paint and Wall Paper Co in Ft. Worth; then moved to Waco in 1973. She was a member of The Women in Construction of Ft. Worth. In May of 1974 she worked for Watson Electric Supply Co., until November 1979 in Waco. Her husband L.M. George Stevenson passed away February 9, 1988, in Waco. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
