Herbert Austin Sholl

SHOLL, HERBERT Herbert A. Sholl, age 79, of Waco, died Sunday, May 20, 2001 at a local hospital. Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 23rd at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas with Rev. Robert Cavanaugh officiating. Mr. Sholl was born June 28, 1921 to the late Paul E. and Marie Dennis Sholl in Delanco, NJ. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army, 3rd Division 30th Infantry Unit in the Moroccan, Tunisian, and Sicilian Theaters. Upon return from the war and while stationed at Fort Hood, he met Waco native, Ruth Rutherford. They married February 3, 1945. Mr. Sholl retired from Southwestern Bell as Marketing Manager after 41 years of service. He was a member of the local American Legion No. 121 and VFW Post No. 2448. He also was active as a member of several local senior citizen dance clubs. His son, John R. Sholl preceded him in death in 1981.
