Jean Bushnell passed away quietly on August 2, 2025, at age 94 with her husband at her side.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel.
Jean was born to Henry Edwin and Thea Ida Oliver in 1931 in Temple, Texas, and was married to Francis Martin Bushnell, Jr., in 1982, in Waco, Texas.
Only love can capture the essence of who Jean really was. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waco, and her faith was most dear to her. She lived in Rogers, Texas, for her early years. Jean graduated from Temple High School and Baylor University and worked for Texas Utilities for many years. For several years after retirement, she supported Historic Waco Foundation and its Barnes Course of Decorative Arts. She enjoyed many vacations traveling with her husband throughout the United States. She loved all things French and treasured a two-week trip to Paris, France, after retirement.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years; and a cousin, Gerald Johnson Jr. of DeRidder, Louisiana.
Her family thanks those special medical professionals, therapists, and aides who helped Jean in her later years, most certainly Debbie, whose support and encouragement went far beyond her professional responsibilities. And they thank those friends and neighbors who have given help and comfort. Jean at last is at peace and with her God. For those who knew and loved her, she will be most dearly missed.
The family invites you to leave a message or a memory of Jean in her “Memorial Guestbook” at wwwWHBfamily.com.
