It is with deep sorrow, the Pierce family announces that Jack Pierce loving father, and beloved husband of Barbara H. Clifton Pierce, passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 2, 2024, at his home in Waco, Texas.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Jack, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas 76710

Jackie “Jack” Lamar Pierce was born in Texas City, Texas, September 30, 1946. Jack, or “Papa Jack” as he was known, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. Having grown up in both Fort Worth, Texas and Torrance, California, Jack would become an avid hunter, golfer and musician whose playful sense of humor found its way into every conversation over a good cigar. He maintained his youthful curiosity towards life and was a source of direction, integrity and comfort for his family.

An army veteran, who served both at home and abroad, Jack retired from a successful decades long career at Sherwin Williams. He was content to spend his days outdoors tending to his ranch in nearby Valley Mills. He married his wife Barbara Huchel Clifton Pierce in 2011, whom he loved dearly and was intensely bonded to through his remaining years spent together traveling, entertaining family, going dancing and relaxing at home with their dogs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Etoil Pierce Crowley; his father, Wallace Payne Pierce; and Cindy Smith Pierce Conley.

Jack is survived by wife, Barbara Pierce; his sister, Brenda Pierce Smith; his five children, Jackie Pierce, Pam Pierce Crouch, Kris Pierce, Cody Pierce, Courtney Pierce and Terri Dougherty Pierce and their beloved spouses. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as his bonus children and families, the Megan and Rye Cliftons, and the Pippin and Alex Hintons.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, a charity Jack was loyal to.
