James "Chris" Christopher Peña

James Christopher Peña, Sr., 51, of Waco, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco with The Rev. Ryan Higdon officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Chris was born February 10, 1975, in Waco to James Ronald Peña and Debra Moore Peña. He graduated from Waco High School in 1993. He then attended MCC and later began a career in the construction industry.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Susan Moore Peña.

Chris is survived by his son, James Christopher Peña, Jr.; his father, James Ronald Peña; his brother, John Allen Peña; his significant other, Misty Tindall; and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Christopher Peña, Jr., John Allen Peña, Ryan Hale, Jonathan Poindexter, Eric Daniel Fuentes and Justin Ray Peña.
