John Clay McClellan passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at St. Catherine’s Hospice. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, at Gatesville City Cemetery with Dr. Leslie King officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. John was born April 27, 1948, in Chincoteague, Virginia, to Thomas Rufus and Jane Atkinson McClellan. His trade was furniture repair. He enjoyed woodworking and he loved history and classical music. He and his wife, Diane, sang in the church choir at First Presbyterian. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Diane. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Thomas and her husband, Ross; and by his brother, Bob McClellan. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
