John K. McCarthy

John McCarthy, 65, passed away unexpectantly, on September 23, 2025. A memorial service will be held on October 3, at 3:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

John was born in Salem, New York on October 1, 1959. He was a business owner for 23 years. He was married to Kelly McCarthy on July 4, 2003. He deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was passionate about his property and making it look beautiful. He enjoyed building, which was his true talent, working with wood. He could do anything, and if someone needed him, he was there.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Johnny McCarthy, and his sister, Karen McCarthy.

Survivors include daughter, April and husband, Jason Derrick, daughter, Shannon and husband, Luke Illerbrum, stepdaughter, Tiffani and husband, Evan Tindell, stepdaughter, Katrina and husband, Johnny Haug, stepson, Ross and wife, Naya Laurel, Desi Britt, former stepdaughter, and 12 beautiful grandchildren.
