Johnny Jay Holman, 54, of Mart, lovingly known to most as “Jay”, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Family and friends will gather for visitation and a time of sharing memories, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco. A funeral service celebrating Jay’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers are Corbin Holman, Bailey Holman, Marshall Holman, Chase Frazier, Chance Galyean, and Kevin Wright.
Jay was born November 28, 1971, in Brawley, California, and later grew up in Childress, Texas. Jay lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed bull hauling, fishing, hauling ass, and spending time with his children, friends, and grandchildren. He could often be found in the shop polishing his truck, grilling, or boiling crawfish.
Jay was preceded in death by his grandmother, Manny Holman; and by his parents, Charles “Bulldog” and Patricia Holman.
Jay is survived by his loving siblings, Audrey Powell, Tim Holman, and Jeff Holman; his children, Corbin, Bailey, Marshall, and Gabby Holman; his cherished grandchildren, Ava, Hadley, Lakelyn, and Lainee; and his beloved fur babies, Sam and Sadie, who were never far from his side.
Jay was known for his kind heart and generous spirit, often opening his home to anyone who needed a place to land. Above all, he will be remembered as a caring friend, father, and proud PawPaw—always down for a good time and always there for the people he loved.
