Juanita R. Gonzales

Juanita R. Gonzales, born May 31, 1942, lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service to others. She passed from this life on August 23, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love and devotion to God, family, and country.

A memorial service for Juanita will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in the Garden of Memories. 

A family & friends gathering for lunch and fellowship will be held after the graveside in the church hall at St. Mary's.

Juanita was a graduate of Hawley High School, where she proudly made history as the first Mexican-American to graduate from Hawley High School.

She proudly served her country in the United States Army as a nurse, beginning a lifelong calling of caring for others. She continued that calling through a long and dedicated career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

Juanita married the love of her life, Gil Gonzales, on October 15, 1976, in Waco, Texas. Together, they shared a life built on love and devotion.

A devoted Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Juanita lived her faith through her actions. She cared deeply for those who were sick, hurting, saddened, or hungry, always offering comfort, kindness, and compassion.

Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gil Gonzales; her mother, Simona Saucedo; her father, Luciano Rodriguez; her brothers, Cleofas Rodriguez, Maximo Rodriguez, Joe Rodriguez, Edward Rodriguez, Junior Rodriguez, and Mario Rodriguez; and her sisters, Josephine Pecina and Simona Gonzalez.

She is survived by her sisters, Sevastiana Lopez of Abilene, Texas, and Margarita Villanueva and husband, Carlos Villanueva, of Fort Worth, Texas, along with her many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Juanita will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her deep Catholic faith, her service to her country, and a lifetime spent caring for others. The love and kindness she gave so freely will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

May she rest in eternal peace in the loving presence of our Lord.
