Kaye Ayers, 67, of Waco, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2025. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kaye’s life on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas.
Kaye was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Kaye carried a master’s degree in education and dedicated more than 20 years to Waco ISD. She inspired countless students and colleagues with her leadership, compassion, and love of learning. Her legacy as an educator lives on in the many lives she shaped through her teaching.
Outside of the classroom, Kaye was an avid reader, an experienced quilter, and a lifelong animal lover. Her quilts, stitched with care and creativity, will continue to comfort those she loved. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, caring nature and bright humor.
Kaye’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Hooten, her children Aaron, and his wife Nicci, and Cuyler, and her husband David, and her cherished grandchildren Eliza, Finley, Jude, and Lincoln, who brought her endless joy.
