Kenneth John Robinson

August 22, 1944 — June 14, 2025

Waco

It is with the sorrow of this world, and the joy of eternity, that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Robinson, who transitioned from earth into the presence of the Heavenly Father.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas. Following the service, guests are invited to gather in the chapel for visitation.

Ken leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, courage, service to others, and unwavering dedication to family.

His journey on earth began August 22, 1944, in San Diego, California, where he was raised, and ended June 14, 2025—Flag Day, a date that fittingly reflects his deep love for the United States of America. After graduating from San Diego State University, Ken proudly served as a Navy pilot, courageously defending his country during the Vietnam War. As a veteran, he exemplified unwavering commitment, devotion, and bravery in service. His selfless dedication and strong sense of duty will forever be remembered and honored.

Following his military service, Ken began a long and distinguished career with American Airlines, where he flew the Boeing 727 for 27 years, retiring as a Captain.

Beyond his military and professional accomplishments, Ken’s greatest joy was his role as a father and grandfather. He was a steadfast and loving presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren—attending their events, helping with projects, and teaching them lifelong skills. With wisdom and strength, he served as a pillar of support and guidance.

Ken and his wife, Christine, raised their family in the community of Spring Park in Garland, Texas. He was widely known and deeply loved by friends, coworkers, and neighbors for his commitment to community improvement. Always busy with projects, Ken constantly sought ways to serve and support those around him. After retiring, he and Christine moved to Crawford, Texas, where he enjoyed “dabbling in ranching” while continuing his service-minded approach to life.

In addition to his devotion to country and family, Ken was known for his dry, playful sense of humor, his expansive knowledge of countless topics, and his extraordinary ability to build or repair almost anything. Calm and gentle by nature, he became a fierce advocate for the causes he believed in, making him both a trusted guide and a passionate role model.

Those who remember Ken will most recall his generous heart and selfless service. He gave freely of his time, wisdom, and care until his final day.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Robinson; his children: Julie Melton and her husband Charlie, Liz Coscio and her husband Mark, and Jeff Robinson and his wife Wendy; and his cherished grandchildren: Ainsley and Reese Dillard, Aidan and Tristan Latino, and Norah, Robbie, and Sammie Melton. He will also be remembered fondly by countless friends, colleagues, and members of the communities he touched.

As those who loved him say goodbye with sorrow, we also celebrate with joy his eternal life in Heaven with God the Father. Ken’s spirit of love, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Ken’s family invite you to leave a message or memory of him in his “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
